The
Commonwealth of Kentucky selected EOP Architects to provide design, construction
documents and contract administration services for the new 420,000 s.f.
Transportation Cabinet Office Building and accompanying 1,500-space Parking
Structure located in Frankfort, Kentucky.
The building accommodates over 1,200 employees of the Kentucky Transportation
Cabinet and occupies three blocks of Frankfort’s downtown business
district. A few of the building's many features include:
Approximately 250,000 s.f. of flexible office environment utilizing
raised access floors, modular component cabling and wiring, underfloor
HVAC distribution and the latest concepts for systems furnishings and
modular office design.
Centralized
conference, meeting and dining center designed to maximize efficient
utilization of common use spaces and minimize security concerns by limiting
public access to non-public areas of the building.
Transportation
Operations Command Center is a state-of-the-art communications, control
and video monitoring facility for use by the Transportation Cabinet for
routine traffic monitoring and emergency traffic control of the Commonwealth's
interstate highway system.
