| EOP is providing design services for Phase VI of the Wendell H. Ford Regional Training Center, which consists of the expansion of the facility to accommodate a full 800 person battalion. The physical additions to the complex will include: Three Enlisted Men’s Barracks (EMP), One Field Grade Officer barracks (FGO), One Multi-Purpose Classroom building (MPC), and One Expansion to the Dining Hall. The
development will also include related site development and new infrastructure
elements of associated roads, walks, parking and utilities. A significant
design and construction requirement is the adherence to the Department
of the Army’s Sustainable Design and Development requirements and
“SPiRiT”, Sustainable Project Rating Tool. “SPiRiT”
is very similar to and is derived from LEEDTM (Leadership in Energy and
Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System TM) “Sustainable”
design and construction is a requirement
of this project, with the design and construction
sufficient
to attain the “SPiRiT” Gold Level (very similar to the LEEDTM
Gold Level). |
